Wednesday was Elim HOPE Packs day. Over the last three years, hundreds, even thousands of school packs, assembled by Elim adults, have made their way into the Los Cipreses community (among other Peru communities). Our adults have always been so happy to hear how they have been a part of this blessing. It’s important that you see how you have made this happen through your support as well. I asked the Elim adults for their thoughts about yesterday’s Elim HOPE Packs distributions.
Steve Hamstra: “They are good children. We did a great job. It was fun to see the children get their school supplies. I liked to make the children happy. It makes me feel good because it’s the love of God. I hope we can all go to heaven together someday.”
Gale Gard: “I feel pretty good cuz I have helped them. I helped them by putting the supplies in their bags. I enjoyed the smiles on the kids’ faces. It makes me feel good to know that they can go to school and learn. I pray for them, that they will learn well in school and stuff. It’s good to go to school so they can learn and get a job so they can make money and buy stuff, and support their families.”
Greg Flanigan: “They’re good. I liked assembling the HOPE Packs. I liked the excitement. They are important so the kids can get their education. It makes me feel happy. I think it makes God happy.”
One of the keys to Elim HOPE Packs is that the entire story is one of God’s mercy, from the assembly of packs as a work opportunity for Elim adults to the distribution of packs equipping children to attend school. Each step is possible because of people like you who support the program. While we welcome any gifts to support Elim HOPE Packs and make ministry like this possible (click here to give a gift of $12, $6, or $3 – every gift equips Elim adults to assemble a HOPE Pack for someone in need), we actually have a great opportunity for you to get personally involved.
