The adults at Elim spend a lot of their time volunteering at various organizations in the surrounding communities. One of their volunteer locations is the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF), which supplies toys and gift cards to children and teenagers undergoing cancer treatments in over 50 locations across 19 states.
Bob loves volunteering at the Treasure Chest Foundation because he knows that his work helps lift the spirits of the children that receive the gifts. Bob and a few other Elim adults volunteer at the POTCF about once a week, depending on what needs to be done. While they’re there, Bob and his peers sort, label, and get the toys ready to be shipped across the US to children and teens!
When Bob isn’t volunteering in the community, he can be found on Elim’s work-floor packing food and school supplies for HOPE Packs. “The jobs and volunteering I do make me feel good because I’m helping others,” explains Bob.
