Elim paraprofessionals (essential aides that work closely, often one- on-one, with Elim students) meet monthly in small groups led by a peer guide to develop core skills such as communication, empathy, and adaptability. These skills are equipping paraprofessionals to help our students thrive. Groups are comprised of paraprofessionals from different school programs and are designed to support and guide employees.
Peer Guide Katy, a tenured Elim paraprofessional, leads a one-hour session with ten other paraprofessionals during weekly school collaboration time. The group comes together in prayer, watches
a video on effective communication, then Katy leads them in a discussion about the content. Later on, there is time to discuss challenges the group might be facing and engage in a dialogue about relevant special education content.
With your continued support, the Elim Learning program is developing stronger, more-equipped employees to support our students. You are building a strong foundation of support for our staff, so they are better able to serve in their classrooms.
