What’s Elim Team TRI?
For the 7th year in a row, Elim staff, Elim adults, Elim families, and Elim supporters are joining together to form “Elim Team TRI.” Together we will SWIM 0.23 miles, BIKE 6.2 miles, and RUN/WALK 1.5 miles in the SuperSprint race at the Chicago Triathlon on Saturday, August 29, and together we will raise funds for HOPE Packs of school supplies for local kids in need.
When is the event?
The SuperSprint takes place on Saturday. August 29.
Where does the event take place?
The SuperSprint takes place along the lakefront in beautiful downtown Chicago. The race takes off at Foster Beach and runs along Lake Shore Drive between Montrose and Foster Ave.
Do I have to do the whole Triathlon by myself?
Nope! You can choose to participate on an Elim Team TRI relay team! A relay team can consist of two or three relay team members. You can even choose to create a relay team with an Elim adult, who will walk/run/roll with you for the last leg of the race!
How long is the SuperSprint?
SWIM 0.23 miles
BIKE 6.2 miles
RUN/WALK 1.5 miles
You can participate as an individual or as a relay team member. You can choose to participate in one, two, or all three of the relay legs.
Note: While Elim will be focusing its promotional efforts on the Saturday SuperSprint event, folks are still welcome to compete in any of the other triathlon events, if they wish. Registration for all other race distances must be done directly on the Chicago Triathlon website, however. If you choose to go this route, please let us know that you registered in this way!
How do I register?
Simply go to www.elimcs.org/events and click on the Triathlon event link.
You will need the following information to register:
- Participant Name, Birthdate, Gender
- Participant Address, Phone, and Email
- If in a relay, which leg(s) you are doing (swim, bike, run)
- Emergency Contact (that is not a triathlon participant) – Name, Relationship, Phone
- Name(s) of other relay participants (if doing a relay)
- Electronic signature of online waiver
- T-Shirt Size
- Registration payment (for SuperSprint individual or SuperSprint relay)
Elim will transfer your registration info and payment to the official Chicago Triathlon site. You will not need to log-on to the Chicago Triathlon site yourself. This process allows Elim Team TRI to be an official charity partner of the Chicago Triathlon and keeps Elim Team TRI registrations together.
Note: Elim Team TRI registration closes on July 28, 2020.
How much does it cost?
SuperSprint Individual = $69
SuperSprint Relay = $47 for each relay team member ($141 total per relay team)
