Meet Beth

February 5, 2016

Beth Zandstra serves on Elim's Program Committee, volunteers at nearby Palos Heights Christian Reformed Church two days a week, and serves in a front-desk receptionist position for Elim during each lunch hour.

Beth is important to Elim, and she is necessary to our community. But Beth has capabilities and contributions to make that could easily be overlooked. How many times have we overlooked people who are in wheelchairs, or who have other disabilities, or who are just plain different? How often have we denied people the opportuniuty to participate in our communities because of those differences or disabilities? And what have we missed out on by not including people with disabilities?

As Beth says in the video, "Just because I'm in a wheelchair doesn't mean I'm disabled all the way through."

So, as you watch the video, please consider the two questions that Bill asks in the video. "Is there someone in your community who gets overlooked? And what does your community miss out on, by overlooking that person?"

If you'd like to help your church do an even better job of including people with disabilities in your community, please contact Glenn Spoolstra, our Church Relationship Manager, at 708-293-6510 or by clicking here to email him.
