Antonio Grows Through Elim’s ACTS Program

”Just the other day, I was so proud to see Antonio leading the ACTS students out for their outing. He was walking at the front of the group and carrying the emergency bag. His leadership skills were shining.”
Those words, spoken by Antonio's case manager in Elim’s Adult Services, sum up the pride our staff and Antonio’s family are feeling when they see him succeed! Our ACTS (Autism Comprehensive Training Services) program allows Antonio to grow and flourish because of its small group size and emphasis on structure. Since joining Elim’s family in October of 2013, Antonio has come out of his shell, learning to socialize with his classmates and Elim’s staff.
In ACTS, Antonio splits his day into two parts. Each morning he attends community outings or completes tasks that help him increase his knowledge and fine-motor skills. He enjoys volunteering at Ronald McDonald House and completing cleaning projects at a local golf course. In the afternoon, Antonio assembles HOPE Packs, often packaging rice and beans or school supplies into kits for needy children. He loves to help others and works hard at everything he does!
As much as Antonio loves to work, he loves to have fun, too. He loves music and enjoys dancing. He frequently makes our staff laugh with the hilarious things he says!
