The 11 person Elim Nicaragua Team left from O’Hare this morning at 3:05 am and arrived in Managua at 10:00 am local time. We were met at the airport by Elim Liaison Michelle Adams who arranged a van for the 3 hour ride to our first destination, the city Chinandega. We were also joined by Food for the Hungry staff member Claudia Escobar. After arriving at our hotel and grabbing some lunch we visited the local FH office to meet with staff and to plan tomorrows activities which includes visiting 3 different locations in the area to explore how our team can assist families with their children or adults with disabilities.
Elim adult Tony Perkins is especially excited to have an opportunity to meet some special children and to distribute HOPE Pack school supply kits that he and his friends assembled. Please keep the team in your prayers as we seek to join God in what he is already doing in Nicaragua. Please especially pray that Tony will be blessed and be a blessing as he meets with families who have children and adults with disabilities.
